Anna Rubin was commissioned in 2024 to compose this piece for the Stretto Youth Chamber Orchestra based in Trenton and Princeton, NJ.  They premiered the piece in the spring of 2025 and performed it several times during their summer 2025 tour of the United Kingdom.

The piece contrasts harmonious lyrical melodies with driving rhythmic sections with spikier harmonies.   Hence, the sweet and the sour!
