Anna attended the Spatial Audio Tidepool Workshop at Virginia Tech in June, 2025. The workshop, directed by Eric Lyon, was a fascinating introduction to Ambisonics or surround sound on steriods, in the 150-speaker Cube sound space.
Anna’s 2012 piece, Shards of Sappho for fixed media, was originally conceived for playback on 4 speakers. After the Spatial Audio Tidepool Workshop, she revised the piece into an Ambisonics version for multiple speakers. It was performed at Cube Fest 2026 at Virginia Tech in August, 2026 and heard on 12 speakers.
